When is check-in/check-out time?
Standard check-in is at 3pm and check-out is at noon. However, the Amalfi is a far cry from being the standard hotel so if you need an earlier check-in, give us a call the day before your arrival and we’ll look into it for you. Just in case we’re sold out the night before and can’t check you in early, we’ll always have a Convenience Architect (bell service) available to you for luggage storage.
Do you offer parking?
We offer convenient valet parking services for a flat fee of $56.00 per night for guests driving to the hotel. Your vehicle will be in a secure, covered parking ramp and you will have unlimited in-and-out access at no additional charge. Nearby public garages are an alternative to our valet services for those not needing in-and-out parking privileges. Rates range from $26.00-$32.00 for a 24-hour period. Self-park lots are not affiliated with the hotel and the rates are subject to change without prior notice.
How much do you charge for high speed internet?
These days, internet access is a necessity that we don’t think should cost you. Besides, you’re in Chicago and you have more interesting things in mind to spend your money on. With that said, our wireless internet access is complimentary and is available throughout the hotel.
Do you allow smoking on property or in your guest rooms?
Our hotel is completely non-smoking. Chicago city ordinance requires that smokers be at least 15 feet from the entryway of the hotel.
Do you have a fitness center?
Yes, our fitness center is open 24 hours a day and was recently renovated to include upgraded cardio machines with LCD screens, new strength training and Pilates equipment, free weights and medicine balls.
Do you have a business center?
Yes, our business center is open 24 hours a day and features four computer stations (1 Mac). Password-secured printing services from your guest room is complimentary. Additionally, our Experience Designers can accommodate fax and photocopy requests at the Front Desk. The first 10 pages of your copies are free and then it is .10 cents for each additional page. The first 5 pages of your fax (sending or receiving) are free and $1.00 for each additional page.
Do you accept packages?
We do accept packages. Packages up to 9lbs are free of charge. After 10lbs, rates range from $5-$100 depending on the size of the package.
Do you have a pool?
We do not have a pool on-site. Guests who wish to have access to a pool may visit the nearby East Bank Club (500 N. Kingsbury) for a nominal fee. Passes must be reserved in advance with our concierge through EBC Membership Services. Passes are date specific. Guest must bring room key, photo I.D. and payment to membership services.
Do you have a spa?
We are proud to offer In Room Spa services through our partner, Windy City Massage.
I want champagne, flowers, or chocolates delivered to the room. How do I do this?
Your Amalfi Experience Designer is your personal concierge, ready to assist with your special plans and create a memorable stay. They can arrange it all – from flowers, balloons, strawberries, specialty chocolates, wine or champagne. They are at your service 24 hours a day; you may contact them directly at 312.395.9000 for any requests or questions.
Do you charge a deposit?
Guests are required to provide either a Cash or Credit Card deposit upon arrival at check-in; the amount on hold is released in full if there are no incidental charges after check-out.
When using a Debit Card attached to a bank or checking account, funds are immediately frozen for the full expected amount of your room charges, including estimated incidentals of $50 per night. This amount is released by the hotel upon check-out; however, based on your bank’s debit procedures, the funds may not be available for approximately 7-10 business days depending on bank policy. If the processing time is of concern, we strongly encourage the use of a Credit Card or Cash for your stay.
Will your rooms allow rollaways or pack and plays?
Our deluxe king rooms and one bedroom suites can accommodate one rollaway at a rental fee of $25 per night. Play pens are provided complimentary.
What is the minimum age requirement to check in to a room?
You must be at least 21 years of age to rent a room.
What is your cancellation policy?
We have a 24 hour prior to arrival cancellation policy on most reservations. You must cancel by 4pm the day before arrival to avoid a one night penalty. On certain group reservations a special cancellation penalty may apply.
What is your early departure policy?
You may change your check-out date up until you check into the hotel. There is a $100 penalty for reservations shortened after check-in. On certain group reservations or special discounted rates, a different policy may apply.
Do you have connecting rooms?
We have several sets of connecting rooms on every floor. Room types that would connect would be a deluxe king room to a deluxe two queen room. Please note this is on a request basis only and cannot be guaranteed.
Are pets allowed?
The Amalfi is a distinctively pet friendly hotel with no restrictions on the size or weight of our canine and feline companions. There is a 2-pet limit per room and a nonrefundable $25 fee per stay. We also offer special amenities to all dogs and cats that stay with us.
Do you have pet free rooms for those with allergies?
Our second floor is reserved exclusively for our canine and feline guests. All other floors are restricted from pets.
